During these months including the month of December, the main target is Giant
Bluefin Tuna with weather playing a key role. If you have never caught one of
these fish, it is an experience. These fish range from 200-500 pounds. Just imagine
yourself hooking up with a Volkswagen on the highway trying to fight it with
a rod and reel.
King Mackerel and Grouper are also available offshore and bring a lot of excitement
on light tackle. In the Gulf Stream Wahoo is the main target out there ranging
from 20-50 pounds and with some getting up 80 pounds.
Yellowfin Tuna usually takes center stage in the Gulf Stream with Wahoo still
hanging around. Yellowfin Tuna range from 30-50 pounds and are great eating fish.
These fish put up a great fight and are a joy to catch.
This time of year is when the Gulf Stream really starts to get on fire. With
the water temps starting to rise, the Dolphin start to show up in herds along
with a few Marlin. Dolphin range from 5-30 pounds and bring a lot of excitement
jumping out of the water and putting up a great fight. During this month you
have a great possibility of catch a Carolina Slam which consist of Tuna, Wahoo,
and Dolphin.
In the Gulf Stream, Dolphin is the main target with Blue Marlin and Sailfish
hanging around. Closer inshore the King Mackerel and Grouper start to turn on
in 70-90 feet of water. While King fishing don't be surprised to hook-up with
a Sailfish. Even closer to the beach the Spanish Mackerel start to show and bring
a lot of fun for a family fun trip.
This time of year is when the ocean starts to settle and looks like a swimming
pool most of the days. The beach is covered up with Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish.
Further offshore the King Mackerel and Grouper bite continues in 70-90 feet of
water with Dolphin also hanging around these areas.
During these months the weather starts to cool down and brings the King Mackerel
right up on the beach. Live Bait is the way to target these fish this time of
year. The Grouper start to move in closer and Wahoo start to show back up in
the Gulf Stream.
Fall fishing at it best. In the Gulf Stream the Wahoo fishing is lit up. This
time of year is when you are going to catch your bigger Wahoo. Closer inshore
the Live Bait King Mackerel bite continues right up on the beach and Grouper
hanging around the Rocks and Ledges in 70 feet of water. Then in December is
when your Giant Bluefin Tuna start to show up.
